Java upgrade troubleshooting

We have recently completed an upgrade of our Java client and server. If you are experiencing problems using our service, please follow the instructions on this page.

Please make sure you're giving the applet time to download. This may take a minute or two for users on slower connections.

In order to use the liveHarmony chat service, you must first install the Sun Java software. The Java software is free and works on almost any computer. If you don't have Java installed, see our Installing Java page.

Most problems are resolved by reloading the applet as follows:

First...Select Control Panel from the Start menu. It may be located under the Settings menu

If you see Java

  • Select the Java icon
  • Click Delete Files
  • Uncheck Downloaded Applications
  • Click OK to confirm
  • Click the OK button to close it

If you see Java Plug-in

  • Select Control Panel from the Start menu. It may be located under the Settings menu
  • Select the Java Plug-in icon
  • Select the Cache tab
  • Click Clear
  • Click Yes to confirm
  • Click Apply or the window's X button to close it

If the above procedure does not work, please try the following:

  • Select Internet Options from the Tools menu in Internet Explorer
  • Select the Settings button
  • Select View Objects
  • Select ConferenceRoom with the right mouse button and click Remove
  • Close the window
  • Press OK

If you still experience problems please let us know.
